What is CBD and why should I use it?

CBD, or Cannabidiol, is one of the dozens of cannabinoids (naturally occurring compounds) found in the cannabis plant. It is completely natural, is not psychoactive (won't get you 'high'), and you will not test 'positive' on drug tests. Extensive scientific research (much of it sponsored by the U.S. government) and mounting anecdotal accounts from patients and physicians highlight CBD’s potential as a treatment for a wide range of maladies. Please visit Project CBD to learn more about this amazing compound.

How is 'The CBD Market' different than other CBD retailers?

First and foremost, our entire staff is comprised of people who have dedicated their lives to spreading cannabis knowledge and products as far and wide as possible. We aren't part of the 'green rush'. We were here long before the CBD hype started and we're not going anywhere anytime soon. In addition, we take immense pride in the quality of our customer service and selection of products. All of our products are fully lab-tested on a regular basis to ensure that they contain the promised amount of CBD, less than .3% THC, and that they are free of contaminants. If you ever have any issues or questions whatsoever, don't hesitate to contact us.

Are your products 100% legal? Will I get high? Will I test positive on a drug test?

These questions usually get asked together, so we will answer them together. All products sold by The CBD Market are 100% legal and contain less than .3% THC. The low level of THC means that you will not get high from using any of our products. Also, it is extremely unlikely that you will test positive on a drug test due to the fact that drug tests only test for THC and our products have a maximum of .3%.

What is Hemp and how is is different from Marijuana and Cannabis?

Hemp is legally defined as cannabis with less than .3% THC. In essence, the word 'hemp' is more of a legal and cultural definition than it is a scientific one. Learn more about hemp here.

Marijuana is a term invented by the US Government in the early 20th century as part of its campaign to make the plant seem foreign and dangerous. It has no scientific basis and is essentially a slang term.

Cannabis is the most accurate and proper way to refer to all varieties of the cannabis plant. Cannabis is a genus of flowering plants and has a very diverse history. Learn more here.

Is Hemp Seed Oil the same as Hemp Oil?

Definitely not. It a product has CBD, its label will typically say 'CBD', 'Hemp Oil' or 'Hemp Extract'. 'Hemp Seed Oil' does not contain CBD. As cannabis becomes more mainstream, more companies use similar terminology to capitalize on the consumer demand for CBD. Please beware! As always, feel free to contact us if you'd like help.

Is all CBD made equal?

Technically, yes. However, not all CBD products are made equal. This is because the manufacturer might have bought their CBD from a more or less good source. For instance, Brand A might source their CBD from a farmer who is growing their crop organically in the USA while Brand B might source their CBD from a run of the mill farm in China that uses hard pesticides. In addition to the varying CBD sources, manufacturers have varying standards to which they manufacture their products. This is why you may have seen stories in the press about varying levels of quality among CBD products. This is a real issue and it's why The CBD Market only stocks the best products from the most trusted sources. All of are products are fully lab tested to ensure quality and safety. Another component to consider is that some products are made with CBD isolate (99.99% pure CBD) while others make their products with full spectrum CBD oil. Full spectrum is generally considered the better option, since it offers other cannabinoids and terpenes in addition to the CBD that work synergistically to provide a better and more well rounded effect.
